🧂 Ingredients

  • Smoked or cooked salmon: ~100g, thinly sliced
  • Ripe avocado: 1, sliced thinly
  • Cucumber or carrot (optional): julienned
  • Cooked rice noodles or sushi rice: 1 cup
  • Fresh herbs: mint, cilantro, or basil (optional)
  • Rice paper wrappers: 6–8 sheets
  • Lettuce or baby spinach: handful (optional)

🥣 For Dipping Sauce (optional):

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp lime juice or rice vinegar
  • A few drops of honey or maple syrup

👨‍🍳 Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Fillings

  • Slice salmon, avocado, and any vegetables.
  • Cook and drain rice noodles (or prepare sticky rice).
  • Set everything out for easy assembly.

Step 2: Soften the Rice Paper

  • Fill a shallow plate or bowl with warm water.
  • Dip a rice paper sheet in for ~5 seconds until soft but still slightly firm.
  • Place it on a damp cutting board or plate.

Step 3: Fill the Roll

  • In the lower third of the rice paper, place a small amount of noodles/rice.
  • Add salmon, avocado, vegetables, and herbs.
  • Be careful not to overfill!

Step 4: Roll It Up

  • Fold the sides inward.
  • Fold the bottom edge up over the filling.
  • Roll tightly toward the top, like a burrito.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Step 5: Serve

  • Cut rolls in half (optional).
  • Serve with dipping sauce.
  • Best enjoyed fresh!
