🎯 Difficulty: Very Easy
⏱️ Time: 10–15 minutes
🍽️ Servings: 1–2
🧂 Ingredients
- Rolled oats: 1/2 cup (or quick oats)
- Milk or water: 1 cup (or more, depending on texture preference)
- Banana: 1 (sliced or mashed)
- Walnuts: 2–3 tablespoons (chopped)
- Cinnamon (optional): a pinch
- Honey or maple syrup (optional): for extra sweetness
- Salt: a pinch (optional)
👨🍳 Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1: Cook Oats
- In a small pot, bring milk or water to a gentle boil.
- Add oats and stir well.
- Cook over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until thick and creamy.
Step 2: Add Banana
- When oats are almost done, stir in sliced or mashed banana.
- Let it cook for 1–2 more minutes so the banana softens and blends with the oatmeal.
- (For babies, use mashed banana.)
Step 3: Add Walnuts
- Stir in chopped walnuts just before removing from heat.
- Reserve a few pieces for garnish if desired.
- (For toddlers, chop very finely or grind walnuts.)
Step 4: Finish & Serve
- Pour oatmeal into a bowl.
- Top with extra banana slices and walnuts.
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if using.
- Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
💡 Tips
- Use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
- To make it creamier, add a spoon of yogurt or nut butter on top.
- For babies under 1 year, skip honey and salt.
- Walnuts can be pre-toasted for more aroma.
